Subway 'Bring a Blanket' collection' is Saturday

The 17th annual Subway 'Bring a Blanket Collection' is Saturday, Dec. 1, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., at two Twin Cities locations.

This holiday you can make a difference and help deserving families stay warm for winter.

The 17th annual Subway 'Bring a Blanket' collection' is Saturday, Dec. 1, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m., at two Twin Cities locations. Participating this year are the Subway Restaurants located at 10600 10th Street West in Waconia, and at 2121 University Avenue West in Saint Paul.

Members of the public are encouraged to bring new or gently-used, clean blankets of all sizes to donate. The first 100 donors at each restaurant location will receive a secrete envelope, containing a variety of prizes including concert tickets, movie passes or SUBWAY gift cards.

Bridging community relations manager Diana Dalsin appeared on KARE-TV to talk about the need in our community. Bridging distributes thousands of beds annually but are always short of blankets. The annual drive is the primary means of securing blankets to keep 14,000 people warm this year.

To date, the SUBWAY Bring A Blanket Collection has collected more than 76,000 blankets

to redistribute to deserving people.
