BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — The Walk to End Hunger is celebrating its 12th year at Mall of America this Thanksgiving Day.
The event will go from 7 to 10 a.m.
live performance by popular singer Kat Perkins, who was a finalist on NBC-TV’s “The Voice.” Also new this year: a costume contest, where participants are encouraged to dress up as food items. The event will once again feature a number of “Fun Zones” along the course route, with entertainment and interactive activities such as a food packing event called “Pack-A-Snack,” a kid’s obstacle course, face painters, various games, and appearances by Santa Claus, The Dirty Shorts Brass Band, and Kids Dance.
