Bell Museum exhibit gets you close to the moon without a trip to space

The museum is hosting a series of events and exhibitions to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing.

MINNEAPOLIS — The mysteries of space make millions curious, but you don't need to go far to experience the wonders of the moon.

All you have to do is head over to the U of M's Bell Museum.

To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Apollo moon landing, the museum is hosting a series of special events, including 'Museum of the Moon.'

The installation, which coincides with the anniversary of NASA's Apollo 10 mission that orbited the moon in 1969, is a sculpture of the Moon that is "a fusion of NASA imagery, simulated moonlight and surround sound composition."

Thanks to floor-to-ceiling windows on either end of the museum's lobby, the installation will be on view day and night.

The exhibit is open until June 9th.
