OAKDALE, Minn. — It's Friday, which means another big matchup on high school football fields. This week, the Hastings Raiders will travel to Oakdale to take on the Tartan Titans. KARE 11's Randy Shaver chose it as the Spotlight Game of the Week. He'll have highlights at 10:15 p.m. in the KARE 11 Prep Sports Extra.

"This should be a good football game, both teams are very defensive-minded," said Shaver.

Tartan is undefeated this season, 3-0. Hastings is coming off a loss from last week against South Saint Paul.

Dana Strain, head football coach for Hastings says his team learned a lot from last week's loss. They're excited and ready for a challenge against Tartan.

"Tartan's a very explosive football team so we've got to make sure that we force them to earn everything that they get and make them march the length of the field. So try to keep everything in front of us defensively. Offensively, we need to find a way to make explosive plays," Strain said, and adding that Hastings fans travel well, so expects there to be a big crowd at Tartan High School.

KARE 11's Alicia Lewis and Ellery McCardle spent the morning with students at Tartan High School as they get excited for the game.
