Missing Hector man's body found downstream from submerged car

Adam Michael Rein was reported missing on Thursday July 5 to the Buffalo Lake Police. His car was found submerged in a drainage ditch later that day.

HECTOR, Minn. - The Renville County Sheriff says that a body that is believed to be a 24-year-old missing Hector man was found shortly after noon on Saturday. The body has been taken to the medical examiner for identification and for cause of death.

Renville County Sheriff's Department, Hector Police and Fire Department and the Buffalo Lake Police Department all responded to a call about the car in the drainage pond. Authorities said that it looked like the car had gone off the road, but the car could not be seen on the surface of the pond.

Once the car was removed authorities discovered that Rein was not in the vehicle. The search for Rein continued from the air and on foot. The Buffalo Lake Fire Department's water rescue has also searched the area where the car was found.
