MN author writes book on surviving child abuse

Mattison said the book took eight years to write but was born out of a lifetime of experience. "Writing it was sometimes very painful, but I gained many insights as I looked back," Mattison said.

MINNEAPOLIS - Judith Mattison's latest book, "I Will Not Break: A Memoir," tells her story of surviving abuse as a child and her healing process as an adult.

Mattison is the author of 15 books with sales of over 170,000 copies. Her work focuses on human struggles and sensitivities.

Mattison said the book took eight years to write but was born out of a lifetime of experience. "Writing it was sometimes very painful, but I gained many insights as I looked back," Mattison said.

Mattison wants people to stop dismissing abuse. "We have to acknowledge that hiding or overlooking abuse for so long has enabled more abuse, whether in institutions like the church or in families," Mattison said.

"I Will Not Break: A Memoir," is available on Amazon or your favorite bookseller.
