NCAA Final Four fan events announced

Starting Friday, April 5, there are several free or low-cost events for fans in Minneapolis, whether you plan on attending the games or not.

MINNEAPOLIS — The NCAA announced several events Wednesday morning that fans can participate in when the Final Four comes to Minneapolis April 5-8.

"Fan Fest" runs all weekend long at the Convention Center. You can participate in basketball games and contests, home run derbies, autograph sessions and celebrity appearances.

Tickets are $10. Kids 12 and under are free, and Capital One card holders get in for free.

Fan Fest Hours:

Friday, April 5, 11 a.m.-7 p.m.

Saturday, April 6, 10 a.m.-7 p.m.

Sunday, April 7, 11 a.m.-6 p.m.

Monday, April 8, 11 a.m.-6 p.m. 

If you wish to watch the Final Four teams practice, Friday's session will be open to the public at 10 a.m. for free.

Another event free for kids 18 and younger is a "Final Four Dribble" on Sunday, April 7. It is a parade that begins at the Convention Center at 2 p.m.

Friday through Sunday nights, there is a free March Madness Music Series to be held at the Minneapolis Armory.

And on the Nicollet Mall each day Friday through Monday there will be free entertainment and interactive games at the "Tip-Off Tailgate."
