11th Annual Cookie Cart Chefs’ Dinner

Funds raised at the event help Cookie Cart to continue and grow the empowering, enriching programs offered to its youth employees

The 11th Annual Cookie Cart Chefs’ Dinner, the nonprofit bakery’s largest fundraising event of the year, will be held Sunday, October 27 from 5:00-8:00 p.m. in the dining room at Saint Paul College.

Each year, the dinner brings together a handful of noted local chefs who volunteer their time and talent to each create a recipe and prepare the dish in one category of the gourmet meal.

This year’s chefs will each create a dish highlighting their Neighborhood Flavors – the roster includes Rose McGee, Sweet Potato Comfort Pies; Christina Nguyen, Hai Hai and Hola Arepa; Justin Sutherland, Madison Hospitality; and Yia Vang, Union Hmong Kitchen who will each prepare their dish with assistance from students in the the Saint Paul College Culinary Arts program.

Funds raised at the event help Cookie Cart to continue and grow the empowering, enriching programs offered to its youth employees. The event begins at 5 p.m. with a reception including hors d’oeuvres, hosted bar, a silent auction and networking with Cookie Cart youth employees. The dinner begins at 6:30 p.m., with a program featuring a live auction, giving moment, and brief remarks by Cookie Cart teens. Tickets are $200 each; for more information or to purchase tickets, visit www.cookiecart.org/chefsdinner.

Rose McGee, sweet potato pie philanthropist, is one of the guest chefs who will volunteer their time to prepare a category of the meal for the 11th annual Cookie Cart Chefs’ Dinner. Today Rose is showing how to make her signature Sweet Potato Comfort Pie.
