6 Smith splash into Spring

6Smith lead mixologist, Ben Kippley, serves up his cocktail forecast.

Patio season is about to begin. That means it’s high season for 6Smith. Located on the shores of Lake Minnetonka, the restaurant frequently serves more than 1500 guests a day on a busy Saturday or Sunday. That kind of volume means they have their pulse on what the drinking public likes. 

Today, 6Smith lead mixologist, Ben Kippley, joined us to give his cocktail forecast and show us one of the signature cocktails from 6Smith’s new spring cocktail menu, the Blueberry Yum-Yum.


Blueberry Yum Yum


1.5 oz. Prairie Gin 

0.5 oz. Aperol

0.5 oz. Lemon Juice

0.5 oz. Blueberry - Basil Simple Syrup

Splash of soda water

Fresh basil and Orange wedges for garnish


Fill shaker with ice and add gin, Aperol, lemon juice and infused simple syrup. Shake vigorously. Pour over ice, add a splash of soda and garnish with sprig of basil and an orange wedge.
