GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — More than 140,000 Americans will be diagnosed with colorectal cancer this year, according to the American Cancer Society. The common belief is that this deadly disease mainly affects people aged 50 and over; however, the rising number of younger patients being diagnosed prompted the American Cancer Society to recommend screenings for people as young as 45-years-old.
Della Bro is a genetic counselor with Allina Health. Since March is National Colorectal Cancer month, she is helping educate people about this disease and the role your genes could play in prevention.
