Eden Prairie student recognized for volunteer service

14-year-old Ryan Stoltz receives award for his work to make the world a better place.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — At only 14 years old, Eden Prairie’s Ryan Stoltz is being recognized for his work to make the world a better, more informed place. Stoltz was just given the Prudential Spirit of Community Award for his volunteer service.

The bilingual student recently returned from a mission trip to Mexico where he helped hundreds of people hear while volunteering with Starkey Hearing Foundation. While in Mexico, he reported on the life-changing experiences of the patients as a correspondent for the Scholastic News Kids Press Corps.

Ryan stopped by to tell us about his passion for volunteer work and how a reporting assignment at a Foundation fundraising event inspired him to volunteer.
