Jacob Wetterling Resource Center hosts 4th annual Running Home for Jacob event

The Running Home for Jacob event will take place Sunday, Sept. 29 at Lake Phalen Park, in St. Paul.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn — Many of us remember the tragic news about Jacob Wetterling's abduction, 30 years ago.

The Jacob Wetterling Resource Center (JWRC) has been doing tremendous work since that terrible day to help communities in Minnesota and beyond.

Abbey Lowenstein and Jane Straub stopped by the station to tell us about a big event happening this weekend to support the cause.

The Running Home for Jacob event will take place Sunday, Sept. 29 at Lake Phalen Park, in St. Paul.

Same-day registration kicks off at 7 a.m., with the day wrapping up around 12 p.m.

The event will feature an 11K run honoring the 11 positive traits Jacob believed in, a 5K run, a 1.1K children's run and other family-friendly activities
