Motocross great Ryan Dungey helping kids fight cancer

He's helped raise more than 1 million for St. Jude's Children's hospital.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Minnesota native Ryan Dungey is one of the motocross’ greats, ranking 2nd on the all-time win list and earning 9 championships throughout his professional career. He’ll be attending this weekend’s Spring Creek National and serving as the events Grand Marshal in Millville, Minnesota.

The racing champion has also had a successful career off of the racetrack with back-to-back ESPY awards for Best Male Action Sports Athlete, ESPN Body Issue, his own Wheaties cereal box, and most importantly has committed himself to the fight against cancer with the St. Jude’s Children Hospital, raising more than $1 million dollars since founding the St. Jude Ride & 5K Run in 2012. Dungey stopped by KARE News@4 today to talk about the run and the families that it helps support.
