GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — Surly Brewing Co. and the Science Museum of Minnesota joined KARE 4 p.m. to talk about their recent collaboration beer, Warp Zone, that celebrates a new exhibit, Game Changers.
The exhibit and the beer can design follow the evolution of gaming from the 1970s black and white Pong to the rise of arcade games to today, with smartphone apps and hyper-realistic video games. The common thread through each era explored: bringing generations together over a common passion and some friendly competition.
Folks can get their first taste of Warp Zone at Up-Down Bar Arcade in Uptown on March 18 from 3:00 – 9:00 p.m. During the launch party, Up-Down’s Coins for a Cause program will donate token proceeds to the Science Museum of Minnesota. All proceeds will be matched by Surly’s charitable arm, Surly Gives a Damn, as sales of exclusive Warp Zone t-shirts will also be donated
