Women's Triathlon at Lake Nokomis

The Women’s Triathlon, known as “the most welcoming race,” is the largest outdoor women-only triathlon in the country.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — This year's Women's Triathlon will take place Sunday, Aug. 11 at Lake Nokomis in Minneapolis.

The Women’s Triathlon is known as “the most welcoming race,” and is the largest outdoor women-only triathlon in the country.

Organizers say their mission is to celebrate the strength in all women, by creating a highly accessible, supportive, and unique race experience. The event is designated as a para-friendly course, meaning that every effort is made to accommodate adaptive athletes.

They also offer two race distances – a SuperSprint and Sprint – so that athletes as young as 11 and as old as 81 can participate. The goal is for women and girls of all abilities, ages, ethnicities, and fitness levels to participate in the race and feel like a champion.
