GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Randy Shaver and his wife Roseann started the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund to help tackle cancer. In 1998 Randy was diagnosed with stage 4 Hodgkins disease and his fight intensified.

Through many fund raising events like Tackle Cancer games, the Shaver Shuffle, the Rush Creek Golf Classic and others the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund's mission is to help the cancer community in Minnesota by funding research, prevention, treatment and other programs,

You can help by donating directly to the Randy Shaver Cancer Research and Community Fund.

Or you can Give 11 through KARE 11's initiative and the money will also go directly to the Research and Community Fund.

Most importantly Randy's message is to get tested. "Minnesota, I wore the gown and I found out I have prostate cancer. Trust me, I'm not excited by that news, but I'm grateful I know we caught it early. So be smart, be proactive. Don't mess around--wear the gown." -Randy Shaver
