Young Joni reopens after fire

A fire closed the popular restaurant Sunday, but only for a few days.

MINNEAPOLIS — A popular northeast Minneapolis eatery is reopening its doors after a fire temporarily closed them over the weekend.

Young Joni says it will reopen its back bar Wednesday evening at 4 p.m., and its main dining room Thursday at 4 p.m. for full dinner service.

The restaurant evacuated guests for a fire on Sunday evening. The Minneapolis Fire Department says an accidental fire started in the pizza brick oven chimney piping assembly, causing severe damage to the roof. There were no injuries.
