Lynx guard arrested on suspicion of drunk drivingThe State Patrol arrested Minnesota Lynx guard Odyssey Sims shortly after 1 a.m. on June 6 for suspicion of drunk driving.

She faces two gross misdemeanor charges of third degree DWI.

The state patrol said shortly after 1 a.m., a trooper spotted "a Jeep speeding westbound" on Interstate 394 west of downtown Minneapolis. The trooper said the Jeep made an improper lane change to take the Park Place exit ramp.

The trooper identified the driver of the Jeep as Odyssey Sims, 26, of Irving, Texas. 

According to the incident report, during the trooper's interaction with Sims, the "trooper observed signs of alcohol impairment."

Sims was placed under arrest for suspicion of driving while impaired.

According to the report, Sims had an alcohol concentration of .20 BAC, which is more than twice the legal limit in Minnesota of .08 BAC.

The Minnesota Lynx released this statement on Wednesday: 

The Minnesota Lynx are aware of the reported incident involving Odyssey Sims. As an organization we take these matters very seriously and continue to wait for the legal process to run its course and will have further comment when appropriate.
