Man charged in St. Croix County rape

CHISAGO, Minn, - A convicted Minnesota sex offender was charged with second-degree assault and use of force after allegations surfaced that he sexually assaulted a woman in St. Croix County, Wisconsin.

Authorities said Tyler J. Tillman, 28, of Wyoming, Minn., is charged in St. Croix County Circuit Court with one count of second-degree sexual assault that occurred Nov. 20 in the town of Kinnickinnic.

Minnesota court records state Tillman was convicted in 2010 of third-degree criminal sexual conduct in Chisago County. He received a four-year prison sentence; he served a two-month jail term and placed on probation for 15 years.

According to the St. Croix County criminal complaint the victim said Tillman went to visit her at the group home she worked. He asked the woman to get in his pickup truck. The woman was then called back inside the group home to help a resident.

The complaint said later in the shift Tillman sent her a Facebook message saying he was still parked outside. The woman then entered the truck and when she said she needed to go home Tillman forcibly removed her pants and assaulted her, according to the complaint.

Tillman was later arrested and held in Chisago County Jail.
