Man killed in Eagan standoff identified

Eagan police located the suspect, who still had the firearm, and chased him on foot before cornering him near the 1900 block of Seneca Road.

The Ramsey County Medical Examiner has identified the man who died during an officer involved shooting in Eagan.

Police say Isak Abdirahman Aden, 23, of Columbia Heights, died from multiple gunshot wounds in the shooting following a standoff involving six law enforcement agencies.

"The BCA will provide additional details, including the officers' names, once the initial round of interviews with the incident participants and witnesses is complete," according to a news release.

Shortly after 6:00 p.m. Tuesday, police officers in Eagan responded to a domestic assault involving a firearm.

Police say officers tracked Aden down and tried to negotiate with him for hours.

Police say officers ordered Aden to drop his weapon but eventually shots were fired and he was hit.

Aden was later pronounced dead at Regions Hospital.
