The department wrote on Twitter: "Connor's dad was killed in the line of duty on June 15. This 5 year old is now collecting patches to go on his bedroom wall alongside his thin blue line flag."

A young boy who lost his father in the line of duty is about to get a whole lot of love from law enforcement agencies in Minnesota.

Connor, a 5-year-old from Kansas City, lost his father Deputy Sheriff Patrick Rohrer on June 15, when he was shot and killed transporting a prisoner to the Wyandotte County Correction and Court Services Building.

On July 12, a family friend posted on Facebook that Connor was hoping to collect patches from law enforcement agencies around the country to surround the Thin Blue Line flag in his room.

So far, agencies in Chisago County, Robbinsdale and more have posted plans to send Connor a patch.
