BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - The Mall of America will become even more colorful next year.

Crayon maker Crayola said Thursday it will open its family attraction Crayola Experience at the Bloomington megamall in the summer of 2016.

It will be the third location for the brand. Crayola Experience Orlando just opened in Florida. The company's first Crayola Experience, in Crayola's hometown of Easton, Pennsylvania, now attracts hundreds of thousands of visitors annually.

At the Mall of America, the 60,000-square-foot attraction will be located in what was an exhibit center in the Southeast Court on Level 3.

"Mall of America is known as a family destination, and Crayola is a family brand loved by both parents and kids," remarked Senior Vice President of Attractions and Retail Victoria Lozano. "But beyond that, Crayola Experience is a family attraction that engages families in hands-on creative experiences, and we are really excited to bring this unique concept to this new, dynamic region."

Crayola Experience MOA will feature 25 hands-on activities. Guests can name and wrap their own crayon, star in their own coloring page and paint with melted wax.

Crayola expects to hire up to 250 seasonal and fulltime employees.
