MINNEAPOLIS - Looking for a place to celebrate St. Paddy's Day?

Look no further than Morrissey's Irish Pub.

The only Irish pub in Uptown, Morrissey's also claims the honor of having more first-generation Irish staff - five - than any other Irish pub around.

They carry more than 170 whiskies, and to-die-for fish and chips.

On St. Patrick's Day, Morrissey's opens at 10 a.m. The party will also overflow into a tent in the parking lot beginning at 3 p.m. with live music and a $5 cover.

Morrissey's is located at 913 W Lake Street, Minneapolis.

RECIPE for Shepherd's Pie

Ingredients

Olive Oil ½ tsp

Yellow Onion ¼ Cup

Carrots ¼ Cup

Mushrooms ¼ Cup

Rose Mary 1/8th tsp

Nutmeg 1/8th tsp

Black Pepper 1/8th tsp

Ground Beef 6 oz

Water ½ Cup

Worcestershire Sauce 1 tsp

Beef Base ½ tsp

Chopped Parsley 1 tsp

Chopped Garlic 1 tsp

Corn Starch 1 ½ tsp

Cold Water 1 T

Green Peas ¼ Cup

Diced Idaho Potatoes 2 #

Butter ¼ Cup

Green Onion ½ Cup

Sour Cream ¼ Cup

Kosher Salt 1tsp

White Pepper ¼ tsp

1. Small dice onion, carrots and mushrooms, then cook with ground beef on medium heat and stir frequently.

2. Once veggies are soft and ground beef is cooked add rose mary, nutmeg and black pepper. Cook for 2 mins.

3. Next add water, beef base, chopped parsley, and chopped garlic.

4. Bring heat level to high and cook for about 3 minutes, then reduce heat to low and simmer for about 6-8 minutes.

5. Mix corn starch with water and add it to the sheps pie to thicken it slightly.

6. Pull from heat and mix in the green peas.

7. Place shepherd’s pie in a plating dish and top it off with mashed potatoes next place it in the oven for about 8-10 minutes.

1. Place the potatoes into a large pot, and cover with salted water. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until tender, 20 to 25 minutes. Drain, and return the potatoes to the pot. Turn heat to high, and allow the potatoes to dry for about 30 seconds. Turn off the heat.

2. Mash the potatoes with a potato masher twice around the pot, then add the butter and milk. Continue to mash until smooth and fluffy. Whisk in the salt and black pepper until evenly distributed, about 15 seconds.
