MINNEAPOLIS - Minneapolis Park Police are investigating after an unfounded 911 call about an assault led officers to detain four black teenagers, with one officer pointing his gun at the boys.

Park police say they were called to Minnehaha Falls on Tuesday after a 911 call about teens with weapons, including a possible gun. The caller also reported an assault.

Police detained the teens, but no weapons were found and witness accounts did not match what was initially called in to 911. Three of the teens were released at the park; one was a runaway and later released.

Police are seeking the female who called 911. Making a false report is a misdemeanor.

Park officials are also requesting an independent investigation into the officers' response, to determine whether policies were followed.

Brad Bourn, who is on the Minneapolis Park and Rec Board, posted to his Facebook page calling the incident disturbing.
