Own your own Island! Unusual Shakopee retreat for sale

Cindy's late husband Mack was an adventurous guy who found the unusual piece of property in Shakopee on what is now know as Lake O'Dowd in the 80's, and the couple brought construction materials to the island on a barge.

SHAKOPEE, Minn. - You'd think a person would need a few million bucks to own their very own island.

Not so, says Cindy Daoud. She has a little piece of heaven that can be yours for less than $700,000.

Cindy's late husband Mac was an adventurous guy who found the unusual piece of property in Shakopee on what is now know as Lake O'Dowd in the 80's, and the couple brought construction materials to the island on a barge. The result was a tidy 700 square foot cabin on 11.5 acres of dense wooded property that served as their nirvana for decades.

"He was kind of a wild guy... liked to do unusual things," Cindy recalled with a smile.

Mac passed seven years ago, and in the time since she has rented out the island paradise to people from across the globe. It's a rare plot, it's own little world right next door to civilization. She loves the place, but upkeep and the trouble of managing it have become too much. You could make it yours for $649,000.

"It's kind of a little piece of heaven," Dowd says, It will kind of make me sad, but it's time to move on."
