Pet owners concerned with spikes found at Minnehaha Dog Park

Some eagle-eyed pet owners spotted them and posted about the issue.

MINNEAPOLIS — Park goers uncovered a shocking find at a Minneapolis park, spikes sticking out of the ground.

Two of them were found at the Minnehaha Dog Park Tuesday night about 30 feet from the front gate.

One was made of just wood. The other had a sharp metal spike at the end.

The two people who found them posted pictures on Facebook that were shared more than a thousand times.

Lynn Ford found one of the spikes.

"It could hurt anybody, anybody. I mean, this is like super sharp,” said Ford.

Jon Nuessmeier found another.

“Kind of makes your heart drop a little bit that if somebody is doing this maliciously, what, why?,” said Nuessmeier.

The Minneapolis Park and Recreation Board is now investigating the issue. Workers were sent out Wednesday, but did not find anything.

They're asking owners who use the park to be on alert and report anything suspicious.
