Plans unveiled for St. Paul's former Ford site

The company presented their vision Wednesday evening to residents at Highland Park Middle School.

ST. PAUL - Ryan Companies unveiled plans to redevelop the 122 acres of land that used to be the home of the Ford assembly plant.

The company presented their vision Wednesday evening to residents at Highland Park Middle School.

The plan calls for 3,800 housing units, which will include some affordable housing, along with retail and green space.

Ryan Cos. estimate the site will bring over one billion dollars of economic development for St. Paul, along with 1,300 permanent jobs.

The plan has to be approved by the City of St. Paul.

Ryan Cos. hope to begin construction by as soon as 2019.
