Joe Biden set to make his first visit to Florida as the Democratic party's presidential nominee

Biden will hold a veterans roundtable in Tampa ahead of attending a Hispanic Heritage Month event in Kissimmee.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — The Democratic party's presidential nominee, Joe Biden, is set to make his first appearance in the sunshine state since the designation.

Biden's press team announced he will be in Florida on Sept. 15 for both a veterans roundtable in Tampa and a Hispanic Heritage Month event in Kissimmee.

The roundtable is set for 1:30 p.m. before Biden will travel to central Florida at 6:30 p.m.

Biden's trip follows his vice presidential nominee's stop in the battleground state Sept. 10 where Kamala Harris discussed challenges facing the African American community in South Florida.

Her husband, Doug Emhoff, also held his own "community conversation" discussing issues important to the Jewish community.

Specifics on what Biden will address at each stop have yet to be released. His wife, Jill Biden, will also hold a virtual event in Fort Myers, Florida. Details related to her visit are to follow.
