GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Prime 6 has the perfect cure for our cold, blustery weather.
It’s introduced a new winter cocktail menu - along with happy hour specials - just in time for helping us get into the holiday “spirit.” And, its cocktails are perfect way to warm you up on a cold winter day.
In fact, one of their new signature cocktails is quite literally “hot.” It’s an elevated take on a classic mulled wine that includes Grand Marnier and Southern Comfort. Prime 6 bar manager and chief drink slinger Patrick Woller joined us in studio to share some of his tips for creating some of these hot new cocktails.
Prime 6 Mulled Wine
3 bottles of red wine
3 oz Southern Comfort 80
3 oz. Grand Marnier
3 pieces of whole star anise
10 whole cloves
3 TBSP Brown Sugar
3 Cinnamon Sticks
Instructions: Pour liquid ingredients into a heavy kettle or double-boiler along with the brown sugar. Add cinnamon sticks. Wrap star anise and cloves in cheese cloth, or tea infuser and add to mixture. Simmer 2-3 hours, removing cinnamon sticks as they open, along with the cheese cloth of spices.
Serve with slice of orange dotted with whole cloves and a fresh stick on cinnamon.
