Prior Lake City Manager terminated

Prior Lake City Manager Michael Plante is on administrative leave after being charged with three counts of domestic assault.

PRIOR LAKE, Minn. — The Prior Lake City Council terminated City Manager Michael Plante's contract.

The termination is effective as of Monday evening.

Plante was charged on August 16, 2019 with one count of felony domestic assault and two counts of misdemeanor domestic assault by the Scott County Attorney’s Office.

“The Council’s action today is in the best interest of our employees and our residents. Our job is to promote public confidence in the integrity of the administration of city government. Charges of this nature impact that trust,” Mayor Kirt Briggs said.
