Reach for Resources holds benefit for people with disabilities

The evening will include a silent auction, a food truck, beverages, live music, an inspiring presentation, free chair massages, and more. Hansen says that one lucky attendee will even have the chance to win a $100 bill.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - During this summer heat, there is a great way to not only enjoy a fun, refreshing night out, but also support a worthy cause.

Two staff members from Reach for Resources, Caren Hansen and Larissa Beck, personally invite the public to Reach’s annual summer fundraising event, Reach On Tap, which will be held at Steel Toe Brewing (4848 W. 35th St.) in St. Louis Park on Tuesday, July 17, from 6-9 p.m.

The evening will include a silent auction, a food truck, beverages, live music, an inspiring presentation, free chair massages, and more. Hansen says that one lucky attendee will even have the chance to win a $100 bill.

Reach for Resources supports individuals with developmental disabilities and mental illness. Proceeds from Reach “On Tap” will benefit the nonprofit’s employment services, a program that Beck leads. She explains that Reach assists people with résumé writing, vocational assessments, job searching, interview skills, onsite training, and more. Torrance, one of the people who has benefited from these services, will be speaking at the event. Beck and Hansen agree that when people hear Torrance’s story, “That alone will be worth the price of admission.”

Tickets can be purchased for $40 through noon on Tuesday at reachforresources.org/events/reach-on-tap/ or for $50 at the door.
