ST. PAUL, Minn. - After seven years of holding a major competition in St. Paul every winter, Red Bull Crashed Ice will not be returning to the Twin Cities.

The extreme skating competition has been held on a 1,600-foot-long track with a drop of 12 stories coming down from the Cathedral of St. Paul for the past several years. It has a draw of more than 120,000 fans, according to Red Bull.

But the frozen spectacle will not be returning in 2019.

"It was incredible to host Red Bull Crashed Ice in Saint Paul," said Clare Cloyd, marketing and PR manager for Saint Paul Parks and Recreation. "They were a great partner and though there are not plans for the event to return in 2019, we look forward to the opportunity to work with them again in the future."
