ST CROIX FALLS, Wis. — The Polk County Sheriff's Office has identified two high school students killed in a one car crash.

Authorities say a vehicle rolled over in icy conditions early Friday morning near Highway 8 in St. Croix Falls, Wisconsin.

According to a news release from the Polk County Sheriff's Office, the driver who died was 16-year-old McKinley Erickson and the passenger who also passed away was 15-year-old Kegan Koshiol.

Both teens were from Dresser, Wisconsin.

According to the St. Croix Falls Wrestling Booster Club, Erickson and Koshiol were on the wrestling team at St. Croix Falls High School.

The Polk County Sheriff's Office said "our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and community as we deal with this tragic event."

Wrestlers competed in the sectional tourney just hours after learning of the passing of their teammates. Competitors were given the option of skipping the event but chose to take part in memory of their fallen friends, with the blessing of their parents. Five of those wrestlers advanced to the Wisconsin State High School Tournament in Madison.
