ELLSWORTH, Wisc. - A sheriff's deputy in Pierce County has been placed on administrative leave after accusations that he sexually assaulted a child.

Allen Wojcik, who has been with the sheriff's department for five years, was charged Friday with four felony counts and could face decades in prison if convicted.

A judge ordered Wojcik have no contact with the victim and barred him from possessing a firearm after prosecutors pointed out his position in law enforcement.

Appearing via teleconference, Wojcik's attorney said his client "adamantly" denies the accusations and will cooperate fully with the investigation.

A preliminary hearing was set for Oct. 23.
