Silos Chef Max Mraz makes a northern Minnesota meal

Max Mraz came to the KARE 11 Saturday studios to prepare a Sweet Potato and Ancient Grain Hash with Lightly Smoked and Pan Roasted Walleye topped with Minnesota Foraged Mushrooms, Avocado and Wild Greens.

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - With Grandma’s Marathon coming up on June 16, what better way to prep runners and spectators than with a high protein, veggie-packed recipe from Silos Restaurant at Pier B Resort Hotel and Corporate Chef, Max Mraz?

Max came to the KARE 11 Saturday studios to prepare a Sweet Potato and Ancient Grain Hash with Lightly Smoked and Pan Roasted Walleye topped with Minnesota Foraged Mushrooms, Avocado and Wild Greens.

Not only is Max a whiz in the kitchen, he’s also worked alongside many James Beard Award-Winning Chefs. In fact, this February Max rolled up his sleeves next to Emmy award-winning television host, best-selling cookbook author, and James Beard Award-winning restaurateur Lydia Bastianich. The two fished for eelpout in Walker, Minnesota and cooked up traditional Midwest flavors during the filming of a special holiday episode of Lidia Celebrates America, slated for an international airing in late November.
