19-year-old killed in Burnsville rollover identified

According to the state patrol, the rollover happened at just before 7:30 a.m. on Saturday.

BURNSVILLE, Minn. - The Minnesota State Patrol says a 19-year-old died in a rollover on Interstate 35W and Burnsville Parkway.

According to the state patrol, the crash happened at just before 7:30 a.m. on Saturday. They said a Ford Fusion was headed south on 35W and went off the road on the right, hitting the sound wall and ending up in the ditch.

The state patrol says 20-year-old James Robert Lapsley was driving, and was brought to HCMC with non-life-threatening injuries. His 19-year-old female passenger, Kayli Kim Thompson of Burnsville, was killed.

The lanes were temporarily closed as crews responded to the rollover.
