Storms bring tornadoes, flash flooding to Minnesota

Multiple tornado warnings were issued across the state on Tuesday afternoon

GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. — The National Weather Service received multiple reports of funnel clouds and a few brief tornado touchdowns across the state of Minnesota on Tuesday afternoon, prompting several Tornado Warnings.

In Steele County, the National Weather Service received reports of damage to corn northwest of Ellendale, following a reported tornado touchdown in that area; however, the Steele County Sheriff's Office said there were no other reports of major damage from the reported touchdown.

In the Twin Cities, heavy rain led to street flooding in many parts of the metro. NWS meteorologists received reports of 12 inches of moving water in parts of Minneapolis, as MnDOT shared videos of multiple vehicles driving through a flooded portion of Broadway near I-94.
