The housing market is heating up fast, so if you want the most bang for your buck when selling, give staging a try.
Bottom line: You're selling your home and you want to sell it fast and for the most money possible. Emily Von Vett, of Edina Realty suggests staging it.
She says staging really isn't an option anymore, it's more of a 'requirement.'
"Anywhere that the buyer is walking in and that's the first thing they see we can't have a second impression. The first impression is crucial," she insists.
Here are a few tips that are cheap, simple and don't take a lot of time.
- Style shelves: remove knick-knacks and replace them with larger pieces for simplicity. Things like baskets, books and ceramic items.
- Add side tables and lamps to a room to create a more inviting space.
- Remove things that are too dark like furniture and wall art. Instead, add lighter things like a small wall mirror, a tray or white textured pillows.
- Create zones in a front entry with limited space, like small upholstered stools.
