'The Girls Are Gone': True crime book details how MN sisters vanished during custody battle

At ages 13 and 14, two of five children born to David Rucki and Sandra Grazzini-Rucki, the teenage sisters vanished in the midst of their parents’ divorce.

On the evening of April 19, 2013, Samantha and Gianna Rucki disappeared.

The award winning book, 'The Girls Are Gone' is the true story of two sisters who went missing, the father who kept searching, and the adults who conspired to keep the truth hidden.

Co-authors Michael Brodkorb and Allison Mann appeared on KARE 11 Saturday to discuss their book, and the research into this true crime story that dominated the headlines.
