Threatened Blanding Turtles hatch in Dakota County

Dakota County is welcoming some new baby Blanding Turtles to its population.

Blanding Turtles are a threatened species. Dakota County Parks announced on their Facebook page that the hatchlings were discovered Tuesday morning as part of a turtle nest monitoring program.

Blandings are considered a threatened species in Minnesota primarily due to habitat loss, according to the parks.
