BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. - Get ready, Minnesota -- year-round golf is here.
Topgolf opened the doors to its first Minnesota location on Friday in Brooklyn Center, offering both die-hard golfers and non-golfer alike to test their skills in an open-air, all season setting. The new three-level, 65,000-square-foot venue is the company’s 46th location worldwide.
“We are so excited to open here in Minnesota,” said Topgolf Minneapolis – Brooklyn Center Director of Operations Stephen Rubenstein. “Our venue is open year-round for all seasons comfort, and we cannot wait to make memories with our guests all year long!”
The Topgolf complex features 102 climate-controlled hitting bays on three different levels. The goal? Grab a club (provided by Topgolf or bring your own) and hit a microchipped ball into dartboard like targets. The closer to the pin, the more points you score.
There are a number of games to play -- from "Top Score" and "Top Drive" to "Top Scramble" and "Top Shot."
You pay by the hour, with a maximum of six people per bay. The prices range from $25 an hour for the morning hours to $45 an hour for the evening shift.
"It’s a game for absolutely everyone and it’s just fantastic," said Stephen Rubenstein, director of operations.
And what about during the winter?
"We're not worried about it at all," Rubenstein said. "We’ve got heat cables on our targets so our targets are going to be free of that snow."
There are also controls at each station where you can regulate the heat.

"We’re just really excited to get everyone in and honestly, it’s going to be awesome once it does get really cold and there’s a lot of snow on the ground," he said.
In addition to the golf offerings, the venue also has a lower level lounge where guests can play complimentary pool, shuffleboard and Xbox Kinect, plus a full-service restaurant and several bars throughout the space.
