MENOMINEE, Wis. — The University of Wisconsin-Stout is mourning the unexpected death of a freshman from Minnesota.
A message was sent out to students and staff informing them of the passing of 18-year-old Haaris Ameen, a first-year student from Rochester.
"It is with great sadness that we inform the UW-Stout community about the passing of Haaris Ameen, 18, a first-year UW-Stout student. Haaris, from Rochester, Minn., passed away overnight. No foul play is suspected, and the death is under investigation. He was majoring in computer and electrical engineering.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Haaris’ family and friends."
Counselors are being made available to anyone in need of support following the death of Ameen.
