Vaping to be banned in indoor spaces starting Aug. 1

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, e-cigarette aerosol, also referred to as vape smoke, contains harmful chemicals.

A new law that goes into effect August 1 will prohibit the use of e-cigarettes in workplaces where smoking is already banned.

The law widens the definition of smoking to include e-cigarettes and ban them in places like restaurants, bars and stores.

According to the Minnesota Department of Health, e-cigarette aerosol, also referred to as vape smoke, contains harmful chemicals.

“This policy change is good news for current and future generations of Minnesotans,” Commissioner Malcolm said. “By limiting the use of these products in public places, we protect people from exposure to harmful chemicals and send a message to kids and teens that e-cigarette use is not a healthy behavior.”
