Vikings fans share big hopes for Super Bowl

Some fans were more cautious and said they are hoping that the Vikings make the Super Bowl. Other fans are calling it early and saying the Vikings will win the Super Bowl.

MINNEAPOLIS - It's in the air that they breathe, it's in the food that they eat. It's also in the games that they play and the drinks that they down.

There's no denying team spirit is everywhere -- and hardcore Vikings fans bleed it.

"The way we tailgate, we cook the food that the other team is known for," Ana Genz said. Genz and her crew were out decked in purple, celebrating hours before kickoff. "Like San Francisco is known for shrimp, Dungeness crab, mussels and oysters."

With more than 15 years of tailgating experience, Genz is a pro. They even brought shot-skis. If you don't know what that is -- it is exactly what it sounds like it is. Multiple shots mounted onto a ski that multiple people can drink out of.

After taking a shot on the shot-ski, Genz said, "We are going to win. We are going to win the Super Bowl."

They say one friend in a storm is worth more than a thousand friends in sunshine. That's definitely not the case near U.S. Bank Stadium. Here, it's more the merrier because the louder you hope, the easier for the football gods to hear you.

"Hopefully Super Bowl but we always know how it ends usually, it's never good," Brian McKeen said. "But maybe this year, it will be different!"

So here's to hoping.

"One before I die at least," McKeen chimed in.

And Vikings fans will drink to that, because football season is only beginning.
