Warby Parker's North Loop location opens Saturday, Aug. 11.

MINNEAPOLIS - The company bringing affordable prescription glasses is opening its first, full-sized store in the Twin Cities.

On Saturday, Warby Parker will open a showroom in the North Loop, branching out from their previous space in the back of Askov Finlayson.

This marks the 75th location for the company, which initially began as an online offering with their innovative "try on at home" program.

Customers can stop in to try on frames, get previously purchased frames adjusted pickup orders and more. They've also created a "North Loop" limited edition frame, only available in the new Minneapolis store.

Warby Parker was started by four friends on a mission to bring consumers an option for more reasonably priced eye glasses, without having to go through a middleman.

Frames with prescription lenses start from $95 a pair.

The new North Loop store also features a new line of eyeglasses for kids, available in two sizes -- ages 4-7 and ages 8 and up.

The store, which is located on 113 N. Washington Ave., will be open seven days a week (11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Saturday, 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays).
