EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. - Eden Prairie isn't exactly the wild west.

So imagine what dispatchers thought when a motorist called 911 just after 1 p.m. Thursday to report three cows wandering on Flying Cloud Drive near the Lions Tap, a busy thoroughfare that runs along the community's south side.

Squads responded and soon learned the motorist was not seeing things; There were three bovines using the boulevard as their personal fiefdom. Officers figured out that they belonged on Marshall Farms, one of the few farming operations left in Eden Prairie.

A three hour roundup got all three bovines back to Marshall Farms safe and sound.

An animal control officer and some colleagues were on scene for three hours as the cows were herded onto trailers and transported home. None of the animals or their human counterparts were any worse for wear and tear.
