GOLDEN VALLEY, Minn. - Some of those closest to Jacob Wetterling -- his three siblings and his best friend -- are thanking everyone for their outpouring of love and support.

On Tuesday, Jacob Wetterling's killer admitted to abducting and murdering the 11-year-old on Oct. 22, 1989. His family, including his siblings Amy, Trevor and Carmen, and his best friend, Aaron Larson, attended the hearing, where a plea deal was announced and the heartbreaking details were shared.

On Thursday, Larson -- who was there on the night Jacob was abducted -- posted a message on his Facebook page, thanking everyone for their messages.

He wrote:

We just wanted to say thanks for all the thoughts and messages from everyone and sorry if I haven't responded. I guess I thought if I don't read things or talk about things i won't feel as much. But, what I have and will alway feel is Jacob around me. I feel him in the kindness of my wife who would give anything to take away the pain but helps more than she knows just by being there. I feel him in my son as we talk about being nice and helpful to the new kids at school because that's exactly what Jacob was to me in second grade. I feel him in my precious Theodore when he runs up to me and hugs his big strong Da Da because he somehow knows I need it. I feel Jacob and the goodness of him all around me. That doesn't stop. Hope doesn't stop.

Jacob's siblings also released a statement, along with a family photo with MIckey Mouse:

We feel your love.
We are overwhelmed by the support and compassion from the people we know and love and from people all over the world who have been touched by Jacob's Hope. Thank you to everyone who has been there for us. We couldn't have gotten through the past 26 plus years without the support of the people we love. We are, and we will always be, Jacob's Hope.
