WHITE BEAR LAKE, Minn. - Nathan Erickson and his wife Kris were surprised when their son was born. They knew he had a heart defect but the couple said there was no indication of any other trouble. But their son, Bentley, was born with craniofacial differences. Since birth, the six year old has had 13 surgeries.

The Ericksons say the new family-oriented film "Wonder" parallels their life.

The film, starting Julia Roberts, Owen Wilson and Jacob Tremblay, tells the story of a child born with severe facial irregularities.

The couple saw an advance screening before the movie opened nationwide Friday.

The Erickson family said they relocated to Minnesota so Bentley could receive treatment at Gillette Children's Specialty Healthcare.
