BLOOMINGTON, Minn. — Police say a woman is dead and a man is in custody on probable cause homicide after a stabbing in Bloomington late Sunday.

A Bloomington Police spokesperson says squads were dispatched to a home on the 10200 block of Quebec Ave. around 11 p.m. on reports of an assault. When officers arrived they found a 47-year-old woman who had been stabbed multiple times. Despite life-saving measures by officers she did not survive.

A 56-year-old man was arrested and is being held on pending second degree murder charges. Chief Jeffrey Potts says investigators are trying to determine the status of the relationship between the suspect and victim, but does believe it can be referred to as a domestic situation.
