Woman finishes motorcycle race across the world

Faith Ahler hopes to set a world record as first woman to circumnavigate the world on a motorcycle.

ST. MICHAEL, Minn. - A woman on a motorcycle race around the world just crossed the finish line in Minnesota. Faith Ahler represented the USA as she rode through 17 countries over the last month.

Three women from three other countries also competed. The winner will be inducted into the Guinness Book of World Records as the first woman to circumnavigate the world on a motorcycle. The results should be announced in about a month.

"There is a huge growth in the motorcycle industry with women riders and I hope this definitely encourages more women," Ahler said. "Get out there and ride. Get out there and ride. There's nothing we can't do."

Ahler said she faced some challenges along the way, including severe weather, language barriers, and bad roads. Still, she made it back safely to Bison Thunder Motorcycle in St. Michael, where her supporters were waiting Friday.
